Keep moving forward :)

Hi.
Debate quarter finals was yesterday. Student Leader Investiture was yesterday too. I couldnt come for both so I had to miss the investiture. ):
Quarter finals or also knows as the impromtus round or the knock out rounds is where the motion is released on the day itself and teams are given only 1hour to prepare 3 5-minute speeches. Definitely stressing.
Well anyway, the motion that came out yesterday was 'This House Believes That national security should take precedence over individual rights' and Ngee Ann Secondary would be prop against ACSI (opp).
I would be the first speaker, Mel second and Saza as third. Janice helped me with writing out my speech while Samuel helped Saza with rebuttals. For the first time, Samuel was cooperating well with us. Thumbs up. There was ten minutes left and I have yet to finish my first point. I really thought I was going to screw up my speech.
When it's time, we left the classroom and made our way to the deabting room. I was nervous, but suprisingly, not so much as compared to the previous deabtes. I really think Eleanor's and Si Min's and Sonica's presence helped :D
After all 6 speeches, the judge needed their time to discuss and decide who the winning team would be. We had a short debrief session with Michelle (our coach). She didnt seem a little bit down at all so I guess she was really proud of our performance. And yes, she did admit we did better than what she expected. I think she did a great job in coaching us.
Sadly, we didnt win the debate. Thus we didnt make it to the semis. Nonetheless, it was a close match of 2-1. The score difference was only 1.5 marks. Anyway, the team had no reason to be sad because it had been 10 years since NAS debate team made it to the quarter finals. And we were considering to open this as an official CCA. Mdm Munirah said she would convey our proposal to the principal (:
I was still sad because firstly, I lost my water bottle. Secondly, I lost my precious pencil case which contained my calculator (I only realised this today). I guess I left them at Victoria School yesterday due to the rush. I shall go back there on Monday and hopefully find them. Turns out that missing the investiture wasnt so bad.
Now that I'm over with debate, I guess I'll still be busy with SC stuff, now that I'm the president of the Student Council. I will definitely miss seeing Michelle but we promised to meet once in a fortnight at least. To train, and to talk about life.
Congrats Liam for Vice President, Thaha as Secretary and Michelle as Treasurer. I think we would really be working closely with each other and do our best for the school. 3 out of 4 Adventurers. Proud of you guys.
Next week is packed with tests almost everyday. ):
